The Grass Is Green the Sky Is Blue
Solved: "Grass is green and the sky is blue"
Hello,I heard this song on the radio recently and cannot for the life of me identify it. It's really bothering me and I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me.
The memorable part of the lyrics is part of the chorus that says "the grass is green and the sky is blue." The singer is male and it sounds like the song is from the late 1990's or early 2000's. It is a rock song that sort of has a Red Hot Chili Peppers feel to it.
It is not the following two songs:
1) Summer of Love by 311
2) Perfect Day by One Dollar ShortOnce again, thanks in advance for any help.

a bit off from the lyrics you gave but could it be dire straits - iron handwith all the clarity of dream
the sky so blue, the grass so green
the rank and file and the navy blue
the deep and strong, the straight and truethe blue line they got the given sign
the belts and boots marched forward in time
the wood and the leather the club and shield
swept like a wave across the battlefieldnow with all the clarity of dream
the blood so red, the grass so green
the gleam of spur on the chestnut flank
the cavalry did burst upon the ranksoh the iron will and the iron hand
in england's green and pleasant land
no music for the shameful scene
that night they said it had even shocked the queenwell alas we've seen it all before
knights in armour, days for yore
the same old fears and the same old crimes
we haven't changed since ancient times
search generated also Baby Blue by George StraitShe looked so much like a lady, but she was so much like a child.
A devil when she held me close, an angel when she smiled.
She always held it deep inside, but somehow I always knew
She's go away when the grass turned green
And the sky turned baby blue. And baby blue was the color of her eyes.
Baby blue like the Colorado skies.
Like a breath of spring, she came and left,
And I still don't know why,
So here's to you and whoever holds my baby blue tonight. She brought colors to my life that my eyes had never touched.
And when she taught me how to care, I never cared so much.
I try not to think of her, but I fall asleep and do,
And drift off where the grass is green and the sky is baby blue. And baby blue was the color of her eyes.
Baby blue like the Colorado skies.
Like a breath of spring, she came and left,
And I still don't know why,
So here's to you and whoever holds my baby blue tonight. And baby blue was the color of her eyes.
Baby blue like the Colorado skies.
Like a breath of spring, she came and left,
And I still don't know why,
So here's to you and whoever holds my baby blue tonight.and also erm..something that i dont really get lol.. too long to paste here anyway, so link is http://www.lyricsmania.com/soundtrac...rics_5923.html

Last Ditch Effort
PLEASE HELP ME FIND THE RIGHT SONG FOR THESE LYRICS!!!Thank you!
In the catagory of semi-related but useless information
(Since I could not find any other songs related to your request)Your request reminded of the time that John Wayne (movie actor) appeared on the "Laugh-In" television show (1972?) and recited the following poem while holding a bouquet of flowers:
"The sky is blue, the grass is green,
Get off your b*** and join the Marines!"

i have been looking for this song too
If it's the same song I'm thinking of, I saw it featured on a television show...there was a guy in the background playing guitar and singing these lyrics and I haven't been able to find the song either...It was a good song, though, so I hope we can find it.
You are a genius! That's the song.Originally Posted by MimiSays

This is from the show "Love Monkey" but it is not the same song that this person was looking for. The lyrics from the song on the show are "sky is green and the grass is blue." I have been looking for this song forever but can't find it. It is an amazing song.Originally Posted by sem825
guys do check the song "flowers" by "The Ruling Class".....coz this song starts with "the grass is green and blue is the sky"
grass is green and the sky is blue
I found this thread by doing a search on google to these words. The song I am looking for was from the late 60s or early 70s and was about a child beginning his first day of kindergarten. THe main theme of the song was about the child conforming. Any help would be appreciated. I originally thought the name of the song was "little boxes" but I couldn't find it under that name
